Biochar Training

Scientists from ICBA conducted a series of farmer field schools in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Togo from 16 July to 3 August 2023 under the RESADE project.

A total of 1,102 farmers, including 742 women, were trained in best farming practices and soil improvement techniques. In particular farmers learnt about the uses and benefits of soil amendments such as biochar and gained hands-on experience in making equipment for producing biochar.
