Community Seed bank training

A five-day hands-on training workshop on community seed banks for climate-resilient crops was organized under the RESADE project in Dubai. The workshop brought together 27 researchers, extension specialists, and other stakeholders from Botswana, Liberia, Mozambique, Namibia, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Togo.

During the workshop led by Dr. RK Singh, Program Leader on Crop Diversification and Genetics at ICBA, the participants learnt about approaches and strategies to establish and manage community seed banks. They were also introduced to value chains for millet and recipes for millet-based dishes using the farm-to-fork approach.
