Hands-on training in Irrigation System Installation and Management
The primary goal of this training was to deliver comprehensive and practical training to the project beneficiaries in Irrigation System Installation and Management. The training comprised a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) session and a session for farmers (Farmer Field Schools, FFS), focusing on the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of farm irrigation systems. This training was designed to provide participants with hands-on experience and empower them with the skills and knowledge needed to manage irrigation and water resources on their farms effectively.
14 engineers, technicians, and agricultural extension service agents from different Gambian entities were trained. Also, 50 farmers, 39 of whom were women, making up 78% of the total number of farmers trained.
