As part of the RESADE project, which is supported by IFAD and BADEA Bank, ICBA conducted a training course for 11 project partners from Liberia, Gambia, Togo, and Sierra Leone. The course was conducted on 2 - 7 October 2022 in Sierra Leone.

The main aim was to develop the capacities of project partners on crop management and yield prediction based on the soil-water-plant model and using different methods, including sensors and open access data, to collect data on weather, soil and plants. It showed how the model could be a decision-support tool for managing crops in saline conditions and other limiting factors as it predicts the performance of different crops and their yield under various conditions such as water scarcity, soil and water salinity, soil fertility and climate change scenarios.
