The Community Seed Bank in Buchaan, Liberia, continues to play an important role in supporting local farmers by providing access to diverse seed varieties adapted to local growing conditions. Managed collectively by representatives from five cooperatives, Rise and Shine, Love and Unity, Garmamu Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society, Dedhoyeajay, and United Women. The seed bank serves as a shared resource for the farming community. Through this collaborative management approach, farmers are able to store, access, and exchange quality seeds, strengthening local seed systems, promoting crop diversity, and supporting more resilient agricultural production.
