Training of Trainers and Farmer Field Schools in Botswana

A four (4) day training course was conducted in Botswana. The facilitators were made up of personnel from drawn from research and extension institutions. Invariably, the trainees were a multidisciplinary group of both male and female participants. From the research participants, subject matter specialists included soil scientists, agronomist, seed specialist, crop breeding, gender, rural sociology, socio-economics, policy and statistics and horticulturalist. A total of 15 participants were trained, 9 women and 6 men.
