Training of Trainers and Farmer Field Schools in Sierra Leone

In collaboration with the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute, the International Center for Bio-saline Agriculture (ICBA) conducted a four days training of trainers’ workshop on farmer field schools (FFS) approach in Rokupr Agricultural Research Center, Rokupr, Kambia District in the North Western region. Participants included Research Officers, Technicians, Extension Officer, Gender and Farmer group representative and Facilitator. The training focused on FFS approach using PRA techniques which was clearly understood by the participants which they put into practice with farmers drawn from the Rokupr community during the period of the training. A total of 10 facilitators were trained.
