Training of trainers workshop for 11 local trainers in Liberia

Under the RESADE project supported by IFAD and BADEA, ICBA scientists conducted a training-of-trainers workshop for 11 local trainers in Liberia on 7-11 June 2021 in collaboration with the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), Liberia.

During the workshop, the scientists and trainers interacted with about 36 local farmers from the Grand Bassa County and discussed various challenges faced by the farming community and priority knowledge gaps in the current farming practices.

The trainers and farmers also learned about biochar production and cultivation of salt-tolerant food and feed crops, including quinoa, pearlmillet, sorghum, barley, buffelgrass and cowpea.
